An earthy orchard vintage space in Hutto, Texas

This single-story earthy home can accommodate up to 77 guests across its sprawling 4,000 square feet. The space embodies “earthy orchard luxury family”. What better choice for an earthy wedding with lots of elegant touches?

This house is a 20-minut drive from Austin and boasts an open-plan kitchen, an interior and exterior surround sound system, and a huge backyard overlooking an orchard.

If you love the look and feel of a traditional family home with lux, earthy touches, this may be the place for you!

Earthy, Elegant, Whimsical Hacienda in Ventura County, California

What an incredible location this is! It’s “a beautiful multi-level outdoor oasis tucked in ancient boulders, filled with hidden nooks and unique spaces.”

As you explore you’ll find “expansive views, a large waterfall, a vintage Mexicali bar, fruit tree paths, two outdoor copper piped hot/cold tubs, and up to nine different areas” where different aspects of your wedding could take place.

Small weddings of up to 50 people would be perfect here. Considering all that this space contains and how beautiful it already is, we think the hourly price of $350 is a steal.

Earthy wedding decor

For an earthy wedding, your decor should complement and draw attention to the beauty of nature surrounding you. That means it shouldn’t be too flashy or garish in a way that distracts from the setting. For this reason, we’d recommend the use of more understated and neutrally-colored wedding decor.

If you want to include brighter colors – jewel tones go especially well with earth tones – we’d recommend including them in limited quantities as smaller pops of color to emphasize important features. For instance, having the groom’s bow tie be a bright shade of emerald green, ruby red, or sapphire blue.

In this vein, consider using wood wherever possible and lots of greenery and florals as the main component of your decor. Take your chosen venue’s existing plant life into consideration as you plan what kinds of wood and flowers to incorporate for your decor. You want to ensure that they don’t clash with what’s already growing there.

Other warm and earthy materials that are well-suited to this wedding aesthetic are copper and brass, which you can use for everything from candle holders to lanterns to seating to glassware. Another interesting way to use greenery? Moss! It’s soft and comes in numerous rich shades of green, so it’s a natural choice for this wedding style. For this more casual wedding theme, we’d suggest you go one of two ways:

First, you can embrace the rusticity of the theme and go with a more casual wedding dress. Something laid-back, comfortable, and not overly tight or structured will make it easy to walk around in nature. We’re thinking soft, flowy gowns here – you have a lot of options. And as a bonus, this choice will probably be a little more affordable than your average wedding gown.

Second, you can go in exactly the opposite direction and juxtapose the natural beauty of the landscape surrounding you with an extra-fancy and intricate gown. Be sure to budget for this because the kinds of dresses we’re talking about probably won’t be cheap!

There’s something really unique and memorable about the contrast between nature and human-made beauty. You can even go with a dress in a color that contrasts with the greenery surrounding you, such as shades of purple or pink.

Both formal, more highly posed photography and naturalistic, candid photos are well-suited to the earthy wedding theme. If you can’t choose which you’d prefer, here’s the good news: you don’t have to! You can ask your photographer to simply go ahead and take photos in both styles.

Modern photo editing technology also gives you a lot of options to change the look and feel of your photos after they’ve already been taken.

Either way, consider emphasizing a naturalistic color palette in your photos, using lots of earth tones.
