Where Is “Ted Lasso” Filmed?

Ted Lasso became a quick hit with its hilarious take on British and American culture. It has just about everything you’d want from a TV show: great acting, a swoon-worthy cast (with some pretty sexy accents), great life lessons from Ted, and moments that make you cry (mostly from laughter, though!).

While the characters in the show, unfortunately, aren’t really— many of the places the show was shot are! So if you’ve caught yourself wondering where Ted Lasso is filmed or are hoping to make a trip to see some of the famous spots in the series, here’s the real-life places you should know about!

The broad location for filming Ted Lasson is Richmond Green. If you are able to visit this little town of about 20,000 people in southwest London, you’ll find plenty of familiar scenes from “Ted Lasso.” This town was originally famous for a sport much different than soccer, though (or “football” I suppose we should say).

In the Middle Ages, this area was famous for its jousting tournaments! Beginning in the 17th century, residents began using The Green for cricket, the traditional May Fair, and the Richmond May Ball. Now that the town is also synonymous with the Richmond of “Ted Lasso”– take the time to walk around and see if you spot any lesser-known spots featured in the series! Below are a few more iconic spots you won’t want to miss:

The Crown and Anchor Pub

While the Crown and Anchor Pub may not be it’s name, Ted Lasso’s favorite pub is a real place! According to Bloomberg News, Ted Lasso is filmed in this pub that is actually called “The Prince’s Head” pub in Richmond Green.

The building itself dates back to 1705 when it was originally called the “ The Duke of Ormonde’s Head.” Even before Ted Lasso was filmed, this pub had an interesting history with sports. The Prince’s Head website says the famous cricketer Thomas Richardson held the license for the pub between 1908 and 1912. “While Richardson was the licensee, the Prince’s Head lost its license, as it was convicted for allowing ‘disorderly women’ on the premises – an offense described as an ‘evil’ temptation to soldiers.” The next pub licensee then banned women entirely!

Now that this pub once again is welcoming to everyone — stop by to enjoy a pint and challenge yourself to a game of darts, maybe one day you’ll be as good as Ted himself!

Ted’s House

After enjoying a pint at “The Prince’s Head,” take a stroll down Paved Court to enjoy some other recognized scenes from “Ted Lasso.” 11 ½ Paved Court is where you can take a picture outside Ted’s front door! This street is also full of great stores to visit and interesting history beyond what meets the eye. Learn the history of each of the homes and buildings before you visit on the Richmond Green website.

AFC Richmond’s Training Grounds

Ted Lasso is filmed at AFC Richmond’s stadium — specifically, all the training ground and office scenes take place here! When it’s not being used for filming, the SkyEx community stadium, or Beaconsfield Road, is home to the non-league club Hayes & Yeading. And what better way to show your love for Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond than to attend a match at their home pitch? Admission to a Hayes & Yeading match is only £10 so get out there and support the home team!

West London Film Studio

The SkyEx community stadium may have been chosen for the AFC Richmond training grounds due to its proximity to one of the other major filming locations — the studio! They film much of Ted Lasso in the West London Film Studios, just a block away from SkyEx community stadium. This studio has also been used to shoot many other famous movies and shows like “The Imitation Game,” ”The Father,” and “Yardie.”
