Explore outdoor event spaces in Philadelphia
Outdoor events are a joy to hold when the weather cooperates in Philadelphia. Once winter's chill abates and the sun comes out, it's prime season for celebrating under the blue sky! Outdoor weddings, picnic bridal showers, corporate team building events in an urban garden, rooftop bachelorette nights…Philadelhpia has no shortage of beautiful venues to consider for your next outing!
The venue you choose is mostly dependent on the sort of event you're looking to hold. Also think about what kind of indoor amenities should be available, if any. For an engagement party on the grounds of a mansion, you'll still have tents and the house for movies, dinner, and dancing, if you wish. The same goes for an outdoor wedding held on a countryside estate; do you want an indoor space for changes in the weather or special events?
The best places to host an outdoor event in Philadelphia
Philadelphia's outdoor spaces are some of the most beautiful the East Coast has to offer! You can have a birthday party on a riverfront restaurant's outdoor patio overlooking the Delaware River, an anniversary dinner on the deck of a cruise ship, or a cocktail party atop a rooftop skyscraper's business lounge. Some of Philadelphia's boat event rentals are historic venues over a century old. You can have dinner in the captain's cabin of a former steamship before a dance party on the deck under the stars.
Don't forget about the many urban gardens in Philadelphia, either. The Morris Arboretum, The Gardens at Applecross, the Hotel du Village, and other venues offer acres of green space for outdoor special events alongside stunning hotels, mansions, and other indoor spaces. You can also set up tents for dance parties and add chairs under a covered pavilion for sitting events or outdoor dining.
Unique outdoor event spaces in Philadelphia
Philadelphia's long history as a major US city and a former national capital means you're going to find some very unique spaces for outdoor events. One of our favorites is the Rodin Museum, with its outdoor gardens, fountains, and statues. It's a beautiful spot for wedding receptions, business events, art shows, and other outdoor gatherings!
The Mercer Museum is suitable for weddings and other events where an elegant space is needed. The soaring seven-story castle sits on grounds covered by sunken gardens and spacious green lawns. Special event bookings also include all-day access to the Museum itself!
