What do you need for a podcast recording setup?
If you're renting a podcast recording space, you may not need to bring anything at all to record your podcast—recording studios will often have all the equipment needed. For a DIY setup, the most important is, of course, the microphone. A reliable XLR or USB microphone will do the job. A pop filter is a cheap and useful accessory to go along with it. In some cases, a USB audio interface will be helpful and may also serve as a mixer. A pair of headphones will generally be needed, so you can monitor your own audio without getting feedback. Finally, you'll need some audio editing software, as well as the know-how to use it. For a brand new podcaster, this can seem daunting, but with just a little practice, you'll be topping the charts in no time.
