New York Comic Con is the East Coast’s biggest pop culture-focused event, centering around media like movies, video games, comics, anime, manga, cosplay, and so much more. And when we say biggest, we mean massive — we’re talking 250,000 attendees in 2018 alone. That makes this the largest pop culture- and comic book-focused convention in the country! It’s a crucial part of classic nerd culture, but it’s also gone pretty mainstream at this point, so people with all different kinds of interests are typically in attendance.

New York Comic Con takes place at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. So if you’re in the process of planning a Comic Con party or other related gathering (like a launch event, happy hour, mixer, etc.), you’re well-placed — there are countless venue options right in the neighborhood and at nearby locations throughout Manhattan. 1. Rustic multi-use event space with exposed brick

Enjoy this sweet East Village store, which has been used for filming, seminars, private parties, corporate mixers, concerts, and fundraisers, just to name a few! The first floor space has a warm, comfortable feel with lots of exposed brick and generous dimensions at 1,200 square feet. Almost 100 positive reviews reflect the reliability and comfort of this space. It adapts to your event needs, with the following amenities available: 12 tables and 50 chairs, a projector and screen, a 40-inch TV, refrigerator and freezer, and more. 

2. Elegant creative event space and screening room

What about a movie or TV screening that’s related to the panel you and your friends attended at Comic Con earlier that day? You can hold it right here in this elegant event space and screening room, which is right in Midtown, just a hop, skip, and a jump from the Javits Center. If you do go ahead with a screening, you can invite as many as 50 guests, as that’s the space’s theater-style seated capacity. And there’s a gigantic flat-screen TV with an HDMI connection. The reviews of this location are glowing, with past renters calling it a “very cool venue and area of NYC,” “perfectly set out,” and “rustic, clean, open with gorgeous high ceilings.” They do a better job describing its awesomeness than we ever could, but we will say that it includes a wide array of amenities, and the decor is memorable and attractive — for instance, the venue’s custom-made furniture is taken from actual barns across the country!

4. Well-lit luxury NoHo home with designer furniture

One of our favorite venues for New York Comic Con parties, this is where you’ll feel at home. This impressive loft, located right around SoHo/NoHo. It’s an unpretentious space, but definitely swanky — the bright and expansive apartment is in the well-known Silk Building and was formerly the home of Richard Gere! Every feature is top quality, making it unbelievably luxurious. You’ll find gorgeous designer furniture, as well as a total of three live moss walls and an assortment of eye-catching art throughout the entire home. For instance, the dining room table is custom-made from a Sycamore tree that fell in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.

5. Ultra-bright modern event space in Midtown

A simple, airy venue with lots of space and as much sunlight as you could possibly want streaming through its long row of huge windows. That’s what you get with this venue, one of our top venues for New York Comic Con parties. There’s no better blank canvas on which to build your event.

6. Contemporary rooftop at the heart of Chelsea

Another rooftop with unbelievable views, this one also incorporates the best modern design throughout its 4,735 square feet.
